My Story

I am a sole proprietor Architect who takes pride in providing personalized service in the design of custom homes, multi-family/commercial/retail/industrial buildings and custom furniture.

I work closely with clients to understand their goals, explore possibilities and explain parameters to arrive at designs that meet their needs and consider their budgets. I try to help my clients meet their aspirations, while at the same time meet the many overlapping requirements of structure, health and efficiency.

I simultaneously consider many things – inspiration, uniqueness, comfort, function, aesthetics, durability, regulation compliance, craftsmanship, long-term operation costs and illumination for the benefit of my clients, their families, their employees and the surrounding environment for I believe they ALL equally matter.

In addition to being an Architect Licensed in both Illinois and Wisconsin, I am an International Code Council (ICC) Certified Building Official. I therefore have exceptional experience and knowledge to assist building owners and fellow design professionals efficiently and effectively design buildings in compliance with adopted ICC model or State of Wisconsin and Illinois self written codes.

I am also a Certified Passive House Consultant. I therefore have the training, knowledge and commitment to design, energy model and direct quality criteria to meet the Passive House three pillar performance criteria. The results are exceptional comfort, superior indoor air quality, low maintenance durability, resiliency through utility power outages and building system malfunctions and revolutionary energy efficiency resulting in low operating costs – healthier and happier families and building occupants.

Whether building design, Passive House consulting, commercial building code consultation, furniture design or architectural sketches, I am committed to high quality work and results to meet my client’s needs with patience and diligence.

Some say I am particular, others say I am detailed, and still others say I am creative.

I offer inspired, competent, original, thoughtful, conscientious, aspirational services to those seeking SOLUTIONS to their building and furniture issues or looking to execute their design dreams.
